Will you answer?
This is a strange question. If you call yourself a Christian, most would assume your answer would be “yes”. But let’s be honest with ourselves.
If God literally spoke to you today, right now, and told you to pack up your bags and go…
Truly and honestly, would you go?
Would you sell your house, quit your job, pull your kids out of school, and GO wherever God said to go?
Acts 8: 26 An angel of the Lord spoke to Philip saying, “Get up and go south. Take the road that goes down from Jerusalem to the country of Gaza. It goes through the desert.” 27 Philip got up and went.
Let me make sure you got that last part.
Philip got up and went.
I have to say, it took me a second of looking at this to really consider it. The verse didn’t say Philip argued with God. It didn’t say Philip had to ask his spouse how they felt about it. Philip didn’t say Oh wait a second God, let me call into work and take a sick day J
HE LITERALLY GOT UP AND WENT.
Let’s take a minute to look at LUKE 9.
57 As they were going on their way, a man said to Jesus, “Lord, I will follow You wherever You go.” 58 Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes. Birds of the sky have nests. The Son of Man has no place to put His head.” 59 He said to another, “Follow Me.” But the man said, “Lord, let me go first and bury my father.” 60 Jesus said to him, “Let the people who are dead bury their own dead. You go and preach about the holy nation of God.” 61 And another one said, “Lord, I will follow You, but first let me go and say good-bye to those at home.” 62 Jesus said to him, “Anyone who puts his hand on a plow and looks back at the things behind is of no use in the holy nation of God.”
Um… that’s pretty serious.
God wants all of you. Not just the Sunday version of you.
Chris Tomlin “I will follow you” speaks to following God no matter what, no matter where, no matter how hard. God wants to know that we are there to serve him no matter what it is. It could be simple as helping someone you see or it could be as big as moving to a remote place to be a missionary.
Where you go, I’ll go
Where you stay, I’ll stay
When you move, I’ll move
I will follow
Who you love, I’ll love
How you serve, I’ll serve
If this life I lose, I will follow
God has a unique plan for every one of us. It’s a big plan, so of course we can’t see it or how it impacts us.

We make excuses not to do God’s work. We talk ourselves out of it.” Oh…Someone else will do it. He isn’t talking to me, I’m already involved in the church, I’m too busy.”
Don’t make excuses.
God does not call the qualified, but qualifies the called
God has a plan and a purpose for everyone!
Will YOU answer when HE calls?
Will you GO?
