It’s all who you know

We’ve all heard the saying, “it’s all who you know.” Generally we hear this when we are looking for a job or an exclusive invitation.

As I was getting ready for a pretty big deal job interview, someone said this to me. “Well do you know anyone there?” I said, “Yes, I know several people.” The other person said, “Then you will be fine because it’s all about who you know.”

On my way home that day, I could not help but think about that saying. I was also thinking about God’s promise to us. In Jeremiah 29:11 God says that he knows the plans he has for us… plans to give us a future.

Then it hit me! If I know God, nothing else matters. If something is in God’s plan, NOTHING will stand it the way. Luke 1:37 says that NOTING is impossible with God.

On the radio, I heard “In Christ Along” on KLove. It always amazes me when God shows himself in simple ways. I was not even paying attention to the song, but all the sudden I hear this verse

No guilt in life, no fear in death
this is the pow’r of Christ in me
from life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny.

I was reminded in that second that Jesus is in total control. I had prayed many times, I had stepped out on faith, and God was in control. I’m in God’s hands and I take comfort in that. He does control my destiny. (Good thing too because I would have messed it up by now).

So No, it’s not about who you know. It’s about God’s plan for your life. If you are living for God, nothing will stand in the way.

My question is… Do you know God? Does God know you?
